I’m not getting pressure-drop alerts
Alerts only arrive when pressure drops quickly enough for your sensitivity setting, so quiet weather can mean no alerts for days. If you think you’re missing them, check:
- Notifications are allowed: iPhone Settings → Notifications → Atmoe.
- Alerts are on in Atmoe: open Atmoe → Settings and check the alerts switch.
- Location is allowed: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Atmoe. Atmoe needs your approximate area to know which weather to watch.
- Focus and Do Not Disturb aren’t silencing Atmoe.
- Sensitivity: Low only alerts for large, fast drops. Try Medium or High for more alerts.
Why does Atmoe need my location?
Your score and alerts are for your area, so Atmoe needs to know roughly where you are. It asks iOS for approximate location only, and sends just your area, about 28 km across, to our server. Your precise location never leaves your phone.
With “Always”, Atmoe updates your area in the background after you move a long way, so your score and alerts follow you. With “While Using”, it updates only when you open the app.
Which sensitivity should I choose?
- Low: only large, fast drops. Fewest alerts.
- Medium: the recommended starting point.
- High: smaller drops too. More alerts.
Sensitivity changes when alerts are sent, not your score. You can change it any time in Atmoe → Settings.
What does the Atmoe Score mean?
The Atmoe Score shows how strongly air pressure is changing where you are, out of 100. It is not a chance of getting a migraine. A low score means pressure is steady; a higher score means it is changing faster or further, and very high scores are rare.
A low score doesn’t rule out a migraine. Weather is only one possible trigger, and many people aren’t affected by it. The score looks at how much pressure has risen or fallen recently, including the next hour’s forecast, and Next 24h shows the highest score expected over the coming day, and when. Tap the score in the app to learn more and see the research behind it.
How do I change units?
Open Atmoe → Settings and choose hPa, inHg, mmHg or kPa.
Can I use Atmoe without notifications?
Yes. You can see your score and pressure chart without allowing notifications. Alerts are optional and can be turned on later in Settings.
Does Atmoe cost anything?
No. Atmoe is free, with no ads and no account.
How do I delete my data?
Atmoe has no account, so there’s nothing to sign out of. Deleting the app stops it from sending any data. To have it removed sooner, email us. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Can Atmoe tell me when I’ll get a migraine?
No. Atmoe isn’t a medical device and doesn’t predict migraines. It tells you when air pressure is changing, which can be a migraine trigger for some people. Talk to your doctor about managing migraines.
